Program and plan pages only appear on the Study website.

Understanding program and plan pages

Program and plan pages provide prospective students with information they need to decide whether to apply to UQ and what to study.

Programs include:

  • undergraduate programs
  • postgraduate coursework
  • higher degree by research (HDR) programs.

See example program

Plans include:

  • majors
  • extended majors
  • minors
  • specialisations
  • fields of study.

See example plan

Where content comes from

Content on program and plan pages is drawn from various sources, including:

  • Drupal:
    • templates
    • taxonomies
    • micro-content (e.g. rankings, job outcomes and student testimonials)
    • page-specific content (e.g. program summaries and overviews)
  • Jac/SI-net
  • Scholarships website.

Creating new programs and plans

The process for new programs and plans to be published on Study is:

  1. After VC approval, faculty academic admin teams publish programs and plans in Jac.
  2. Programs and plans are imported into Study, usually overnight.
  3. Faculty web editors add required content in Drupal and submit as ready for publishing. How to edit programs and plans.
  4. M&C Website Channel team review and publish.

Editing programs and plans

To update content that comes from Jac or SI-net, contact your faculty academic admin team.

Once you log into Study, you can either navigate to the page and click 'Edit' or access pages via the Drupal menu:

  1. Hover over 'Content' in the Drupal menu then select 'Programs' or 'Plans'. (Due to the number of plans, the Plans screen can take a long time to load and you may need to try more than once.)
  2. Search by program or plan name or code. Filter by year, study area or faculty if that helps.
  3. Select 'Edit' for the relevant entry. There may be multiple entries if the program or plan is available in multiple years. You'll need to update each year individually.
  4. Complete all required fields.
  5. Select a workflow status and save.

Choose the appropriate workflow status:

  • Draft if you're still working on the page and want to save an unpublished version.
  • Needs review if you want to send the page to another editor for internal review. Enter the email address of anyone you want to notify (select 'Add another item' to add multiple recipients). To provide context, add a brief note to the 'Revision log message' field at the top right of the page.
  • Ready for publishing (on Study and Scholarships) if you want the page to be reviewed by a publisher and published to live. This should trigger a notification to the site publishers, so they'll know the page is ready for review. To provide context, add a brief note to the 'Revision log message' field at the top right of the page.

Site builders and publishers can save pages as Published or Archived.

Adding new micro-content items

The following content must be created in Drupal as micro-content items before you can add it to programs and plans:
