Sensory evaluation of frozen desserts
If you are aged 50 and over, you are invited to sample and provide feedback on the taste and texture of frozen desserts. The sampling will take place on Tuesday 24 September in Room N404 of the Hartley Teakle building at St Lucia, and take approximately 20 minutes. Participats will receive a $15 voucher for their time.
Adaptive virtual reality: LEGO model building
Recruiting participants who are over 18, are not pregnant, do not have cardivascular illess or experience seizures, and do not take medication for anxiety or depression for a study exploring virtual reality training applications that can adapt based on the user. You will be asked to complete a LEGO model building game in both virtual reality and the real world. As part of the experiment, a saline gel will be applied, which can be removed with tissues (provided on site) or by washing your hair. Participants will be paid $25.
Focus groups: new employment models in the community sector
The Centre for Policy Futures, supported by Anglicare Southern Queensland, is exploring how new employment models (e.g., flexible work arrangements, 4-day work week, time banking) can help attract and retain a broader range of workers in the community sector. Resilience Triple P: family program for autistic children who may have experienced bullying
UQ's Parenting and Family Support Centre is currently recruiting for a trial of a family program for autistic children who have experienced problems with peers, including possible bullying. This program is called Resilience Triple P and is designed to help families support a child aged between 7 and 12 years.
Seeking families of children with a chronic health condition
Researchers from UQ and Griffith University are seeking families of children with a chronic health condition (e.g., asthma, eczema, hayfever, type 1 diabetes, epilepsy, cystic fibrosis, and others) to share their experiences via an online interview. The research's findings will help researchers to better support siblings and parents of children with chronic health conditions.
Uncovering the link between REM sleep and pain with non-invasive brain stimulation
To help researchers undersatnd the link between REM sleep oscillations and pain perceptions, receive non-invasive rhythmic brain stimulation and perform a series of sensory tasks over 3 sessions. Participants must be at least 18 years old and a good sleeper and must not have chronic pain or a psychiatric or neurological disorder. Receive a $20 for each hour of participation (up to $120 in total).

Attend 2 laboratory visits using ultrasound to measure the functioning of blood vessels in the brain, have your sleep monitored for 3 nights, and receive detailed data about your sleep.

If you are a man aged between 50 and 70 with healthy knees, please volunteer to help researchers understand how people with kneecap arthritis walk by attending a one-off laboratory session at UQ St Lucia.
Understanding young tourists' travel behaviours
Researchers are seeking volunteers aged 18 to 25 who have never been to Bali to watch travel videos, play a computer game, and answer questions while wearing a biosensor and having facial expressions recorded. Volunteers will receive a $20 voucher for their time (45-60 minutes), and have a chance to win a 200AUD travel voucher.
Meta-emotion in medicine: doctors and students
