Walking with kneecap arthritis: healthy volunteers sought

If you are a man aged between 50 and 70 with healthy knees, please volunteer to help researchers understand how people with kneecap arthritis walk by attending a one-off laboratory session at UQ St Lucia.

Understanding young tourists' travel behaviours

Researchers are seeking volunteers aged 18 to 25 who have never been to Bali to watch travel videos, play a computer game, and answer questions while wearing a biosensor and having facial expressions recorded. Volunteers will receive a $20 voucher for their time (45-60 minutes), and have a chance to win a 200AUD travel voucher.

Meta-emotion in medicine: doctors and students

Doctors and medical students are invited to complete a 20 to 25 minute survey, then undertake a video interview, to help researchers understand how health professionals experience emotion in medical workplaces. 

Gaining insight into academic responses to metric-based performance systems 

Research is being conducted by an ARC Discovery Project research team from the UQ Business School and the School of Psychology. This (completely anonymous) survey explores employee responses to performance systems and is an opportunity for all UQ academics to share their experiences of the performance appraisal processes at the University of Queensland, particularly focusing on the use of metric-based performance data (i.e., the Individual Activity Profile, IAP). Please note that the research team is an independent group of researchers, and this study is not being undertaken at the request of the University.

Online interview: service robots in hotels 

Take part in a one-hour online video interview to share your thoughts on service robots in hotels. You will be asked to view a series of images and short videos showing robots performing tasks in a hotel, then answer questions about your perceptions of the robots and their capabilities. Receive a $30 gift card for your time.

In-flight safety videos and tourist behaviour

Volunteer to watch in-flight safety videos and answer questions about them while wearing a biosensor and having your eye movement and facial expressions recorded. Participants must be 18 or older, and must not either be from, or have ever been to, New Zealand. Volunteers will receive a $20 voucher.

Have you ever donated blood?

UQ researchers are seeking blood donors currently living in Australia to participate in a 10-minute online survey. You will be asked about your blood donation history, your perceptions of identity and ownership towards donating blood, and in a series of hypothetical scenarios, you will be asked about your willingness to not disclose personal or health related information in order to still donate blood. Participants can enter a draw to win a $50 gift voucher.

Recovery from daily work stress study

UQ researchers are investigating how people manage their work-life balance. Adult workers based in any Australian time zone are invited to complete online surveys on these experiences. Participants will receive feedback and research-based tips about work-life balance and enter a draw to win one of 3 $500 gift cards.

South Asian Genes and Health in Australia

South Asians make up around 25% of the global population but less than 2% of genetic study participants. The South Asian Genes and Health in Australia (SAGHA) study, the first genomic study focused on the South Asian population in Australia, is seeking participants. Seeking volunteers with no headache and no neck pain

Seeking participants aged 18–65 with no current neck pain or headache. Complete online surveys, self-measures of sensitivity and have neck movement, sensation and sensitivity assessed.

Australian Indigenous tourism experiences
