Information, services and support for UQ staff
The 5 Minute Wellbeing Challenge kicks off on Monday 13 October, and registrations are now open. Form a team with 5 to 8 of your colleagues and, for 6 weeks, take 5 minutes a day to improve your mental wellbeing and reduce your stress levels. During the challenge, you will be encouraged to choose one wellbeing activity that you enjoy each day to form a positive habit.
The UQ Giving Day website is now live. Giving Day is a 24-hour online fundraising challenge where we call on our UQ community to make a gift towards a cause they are passionate about. Donations can be made to Giving Day from now until 11:59pm on Wednesday 15 October. All gifts will be matched during this time – meaning your impact will be doubled. It’s also not too late to pick a cause you’re passionate about and register to be a Giving Day ambassador.
UQ staff can now book a free measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine through UQ Health Care St Lucia. Measles cases are increasing in Queensland, and by keeping up to date with your vaccinations, you can protect yourself and vulnerable members of the community from this highly contagious disease. Check your vaccination records, and if you have not received 2 doses of the MMR vaccine, consider booking an appointment to receive a free vaccine at UQ Health Care, your own general practitioner, or some pharmacies.
