The awards recognise individuals, including former staff, alumni and community members, who have made significant contributions to UQ, the Commonwealth of Australia or the State of Queensland, or who achieved outstanding success in a particular field. Nominations close on Friday 7 June.
Physiol re-opening
The Physiology Refectory (63A) at the St Lucia campus, re-opens tomorrow Tuesday 28 May. The refectory will be open from 7am with three food outlets available, Pantry Sixty-Three by UQU, the Market Cart, and Guzman y Gomez (GYG). The food complex will comprise seven food outlets, a self-service food preparation kitchen with microwaves, indoor and outdoor seating, and improved access for people of all abilities.
UQ will illuminate the Forgan Smith building in the colours of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags will be flying at St Lucia, Gatton and Herston campus as part of National Reconciliation Week, Monday 27 May 2019–Monday 3 June 2019. Events celebrating reconciliation at UQ will also be held throughout the week.
The UQ Physio clinic has been refurbished with a new gym. Staff appointments are now available for only $30 (eligible for private health fund claims). The clinic supports final year physiotherapy students on clinical placement. Referrals are not required to attend UQ clinics.
