If you're new to safety role or your contact details have changed, complete the safety roles appointment form (staff login required) and email it to the HSW Division so we can add you to required systems.

Goals and reports


UQ’s HSW Management Plan (DOCX, 94.8 KB) lists the measures, accountable staff and targets for goals aligned to each Health, Safety and Wellness strategic priority.

Work Health and Safety Managers and Safety Coordinators (WHSC) must:

  • report your organisational unit's performance to the Health, Safety and Wellness Division for annual review
  • report your project status and KPI compliance to the Health, Safety and Wellness Division for quarterly review
  • submit quarterly reports to your local HSW Committee 
  • distribute results to relevant workers in your organisational unit.

Policy, procedure and guideline consultation

All staff can provide feedback on policies, procedures and guidelines that are under review. All documents are secure – UQ staff login required. You can find any new consultation documents on the HSW Communications page.

Email your comments directly to the listed contact by the feedback deadline. Include the document name in the subject line.

After consultation, finalised documents are published on the Policies and Procedures Library (PPL). Contact the Health, Safety and Wellness Division if you have a general question about a policy, procedure or guideline development.

Safety Seminar Series

All UQ HSW Managers and Work Health and Safety Coordinators (WHSCs) are encouraged to attend these seminars to participate in discussions that contribute to the ongoing improvement of the University’s HSW Management System.

Health, Safety and Wellness Forums also provide opportunities to raise and discuss occupational health and safety issues.

UQSafe Consultation

The new user interface in UQSafe will be available for testing from 4 October 2022. System functionalities remain the same, however the new interface provides an updated look and a mobile friendly screen re-sizing for incident and hazard reporting. Please send feedback and report any issues with the new user interface to

How do I switch to the new interface? 
At the top right of your UQSafe dashboard click ‘New Experience’. A pop-up box will appear with a toggle switch to the new interface.

How do I switch back to the classic interface? 
Hover over the person icon in the top right-hand side of the page and toggle the switch back to classic view.

When will the new interface be available for all users to test? 
4 October 2022.

When will the new interface go live permanently? 
1 January 2023. The classic interface will be retired and no longer available after this date.
