You must register your third-party email service before using it. 

Registration of your email service will ensure its deliverability to your intended audience. Please note that registration of an email service will take 15 business days (at minimum) to be completed.

The below does not impact staff-issued or hosted email addresses sending from the UQ-managed Outlook service.  

How do I register my service? 

To register a new email service, you will need to initiate a request. Please note that the registration process takes (at minimum) 15 working days to complete. To initiate a request, you will need: 

  • the email address you intend to send email from (if applicable) 
  • the name of the service you intend to send email from
  • a brief description of the emails you intend to send
  • the name of the team who will be responsible for managing the email service at UQ, 
  • whether your service aligns with UQ security requirements (DMARC You can check whether your service is appropriate on DMARC.io.)
  • whether you will need to receive reply email, and to where.

What if I just want to use the staff-issued Outlook platform?

Any sending of email via Outlook needs to comply with the Bulk Messaging Procedure
