Campus clean-up

Help prepare UQ campuses for the new year by removing unwanted items and decluttering workspaces and shared areas.

The 2026 Campus Clean-Up runs from 12 January to 13 February. During this time, Property and Facilities (P&F) asks all staff to review their spaces and remove items that are no longer needed.

What you need to do

• Declutter your area – tidy desks, shared spaces, and storage.
• Clear areas people need to move through – such as pathways, building entrances, stairwells, and corridors.
• Dispose responsibly by using recycling bins for paper, cardboard, and e-waste, and upload good-quality furniture to UQ WARPit for reuse.

Skip bins and assistance

Skip bins for general waste only will be available at all campuses from 12 January to 13 February 2026. Locations include St Lucia, Herston, and other sites such as Indooroopilly, Long Pocket, Dutton Park, Pinjarra Hills, and Gatton.

If you need help moving large items, log a REMOVALIST job in Archibus via your nominated user and note that it’s for the campus clean-up.

Important information

• Skip bins are for general waste only – no hazardous materials.
• Pack items efficiently to maximise space. Do not fill bins past the waterline.
• Recyclables should go in designated recycling bins.
• Good-quality furniture can be listed on UQ WARPit.
