Gatton network outage – Sunday 20 September

ITS is upgrading the UQ network at Gatton campus on Sunday 20 September.  A number of IT services will be briefly unavailable between 9am and 5pm while the work is underway. Any outages will be short and are expected to be no longer than 5 minutes at any one time.

Staff, students and residents on Gatton campus

If you are working at Gatton campus on Sunday 20 September, you may experience a disruption to UQ services including: 

  • Internet and network services
  • Wireless connectivity
  • UQ applications and data 
  • Videoconferencing services such as Zoom
  • Inbound and outbound calls using UQ landlines (including calls made from PC2, PC3 labs), call-handling and voice messages
  • Contacting UQ Security via emergency call points, duress alarms in freezers and accessible toilets and emergency phones in lifts
  • EFTPOS 
  • Printing

People calling a Gatton campus landline number may experience a busy tone or the call may drop out if it has commenced.

Safety advice on Gatton campus

Staff and students working on Sunday 20 September should note the following safety advice:

  • Keep your mobile phone on hand at all times.
  • Program the UQ Security number into your mobile phone: (07) 3365 3333.
  • Install the UQ SafeZone application on your mobile phone.
  • Avoid entering freezers or notify a team member before entering a freezer.
