Rich text
What is a rich text panel?
Rich text panels provide a flexible and unstructured way to add content to panel pages.
Rich text panels can contain text and non-text content like images, videos and tables. You can insert and format content using the WYSIWYG editor.
Use a rich text panel when:
- you have static or informational content to include in a panel page – particularly longer sections of text
- the content can't be structured to fit into another panel type.
A rich text panel shouldn't be used when:
- another panel type or content type will provide the structure, format or functionality required for the content.
How to create a rich text panel

- site builders.
Use the in-place editor to create a rich text panel:

- Select 'UQ' from the side menu, and then click 'Rich text'.
- Enter a title to help page editors identify the panel. This title won't appear on the page.

How to edit a rich text panel
Rich text panels can be edited by:
- editors
- site coordinators
- site builders.
Follow the instructions for editing panels on panel pages to edit existing rich text panels. Use the WYSIWYG editor to format the content and insert non-text content, such as images and tables.
Best practice
- If you are copying and pasting text from a Word document into a rich text panel, use the 'paste from Word' button in the WYSIWYG editor. This will remove unnecessary formatting that may cause the content to display incorrectly.
- Use basic pages and structured pages for medium and long content pages. Rich text should only be used for small sections of content on panel pages.
