Updating your UQ Experts profile
UQ Experts is UQ's primary website for profiling our research and teaching experts.
A UQ Experts profile:
- enables you to showcase your work and expertise
- helps key audiences (such as prospective HDR students, prospective partners and media) find and contact you
- provides a reputable and credible platform to promote your work at UQ.
Update your profile
If you're eligible for a profile, you should update it regularly (at least once a year) and any time you have a major change or achievement in your career.
Log in to Academic Portal to update your profile.
How to complete your profile
Follow the guide for advice on creating an effective profile. Recommendations in the guide are based on research conducted with key audiences to understand what information they are looking for.

Eligibility for a profile
To be eligible for a profile, you must:
- be an academic staff member
- have a continuing, fixed-term or unpaid appointment of 12 months or longer (this can be cumulative).
Professional staff, casual employees and HDR students are not currently eligible for public profiles.
If you are in continuing or fixed-term position, your profile will be automatically published 4 months after your appointment starts.
If your position is unpaid (such as adjunct or honorary), you can choose whether to publish your profile at any time.
