Each UQ website is managed by an approved group of editors, reviewers, site coordinators and site builders who work together to maintain and create content.

All these roles require Drupal access. If you're a UQ staff member, you can request Drupal access if you have:

  • completed the required Drupal training, and
  • sought approval from the site owner or site coordinator.

Drupal training

There are two training courses available:

The course you have to complete depends on which Drupal role you will perform. Each role has different access levels in Drupal.

Drupal roles and their required training are listed below. These roles are for UQ Standard Drupal:

Editor

Editors are responsible for creating and maintaining content.

An editor can:

  • add, edit and delete all content types in the Drupal 'Content' menu
  • edit existing content in panel pages
  • save content as 'Draft' or 'Needs review' (when workflow moderation is switched on).

An editor can't:

This role isn't used on most sites – it's only available on sites that have workflow moderation switched on.

On these sites, 'Reviewer' is an add-on role to editor – it isn't given out on its own.

A reviewer can:

  • do everything an editor can, plus
  • review content that has been saved as 'Draft' or 'Needs review', and
  • save content as 'Approved to publish'.

A reviewer can't:

  • create or delete panel pages
  • edit the layout of panel pages.

  • edit existing content in panel pages
  • add and delete taxonomy terms

Approval for Drupal access

Once you have completed your training, contact the relevant site owner or site coordinator and ask them to submit an IT request approving your Drupal access request.

In their request, the site owner or coordinator should include:

  • name and UQ username of the person requesting access
  • Drupal role required.
