What is the event listing page?

The 'Event' listing page is an automatic feed of current and past event sessions that have been published on your website. This page has the url of https://yoursite.uq.edu.au/events

For each session, the listing page shows a teaser display, which includes a:

  • title (linked to the event)
  • day and time
  • 'add to calendar' link
  • link to parent event
  • summary
  • teaser image.

Current sessions automatically appear under 'Upcoming sessions' when they are published. Once the session is over, it automatically moves to a 'Past sessions' tab.

The event listing page can show up to 20 sessions at a time – links to additional pages are included at the bottom of the page to allow users to access more events.

There can be a short delay for new sessions appearing or unpublished sessions disappearing from the events page due to page caching.

Use an events listing page when you want to:

  • show all current events in date order
  • have past events listed separately.

How to enable the event listing page

The event listing page can be requested by:

  • site coordinators
  • site builders.

Submit an IT request to have the event listing page added to your site.

Once an event listing page is switched on for your site, it will work automatically with the 'Event' content type – you don't have to do anything other than re-order the link in your main menu.

Best practice

  • If you need multiple event listing pages organised by topic, you can manually create separate panel pages and then tag sessions on each relevant page.
