Microsoft Teams Phone refers to the capability of making and receiving calls in Microsoft Teams, moving the functionality off your desk phone onto your computer.

UQ staff can already use Microsoft Teams for internal calls between colleagues.

  • If you only need to make calls to UQ staff, no further action is required.
  • If you use your desk phone to make or receive calls from external landlines or mobiles, you will need to upgrade to Teams Phone.

The Teams Phone Project Team will notify key stakeholders when their building is scheduled to transition and will provide tailored support to staff during the upgrade. Once staff have migrated to Teams Phone, any desk phones in the building will be disconnected and should be removed. When it’s time for your building to transition, the Teams Phone project team will be available to assist staff with the upgrade.

If you want to migrate your existing UQ phone number to Teams Phone now, you can do so on the self-onboarding portal.

If you want to migrate to Teams Phone now, but do not have a UQ phone number, please complete the New Teams Phone number request to obtain one.

Check the schedule overview to find out when your campus will transition to Teams Phone.
