Giving, receiving and reporting gifts
If you are giving or receiving a gift, you must avoid situations that could lead to or be seen to lead to a conflict of interest.
You must report any:
- single gift you give or receive that’s valued at more than A$250
- series of gifts you give to a single recipient or receive from a single donor within a calendar year with a total value of more than A$250.
There are also circumstances under which you must not accept a gift.
Read the Reportable Gifts and Benefits Procedure for full definitions and processes for reporting a gift.
You can keep gifts that are valued at A$250 or less.
