An early demo of the New UQMaps app was released at the start of Semester 2 to help students, staff and visitors to find their way around the St Lucia campus. The team have reviewed the feedback and released an extensive refresh of the demo with enhanced user experience and new capabilities.
Not only is it easier to navigate and find amenities, the UQ community can now view the availability of facilities such as parking, open-access computers and library space. When on campus at night, staff and students can also use the “well-lit paths” mode to identify the most illuminated walkways on campus. The demo currently supports the St Lucia campus, with Gatton and Herston planned for early 2021.
By the start of Semester 1 2021, UQNav and UQMaps will be replaced with New UQMaps and new features will continue to roll out through 2021.
