A new way to navigate UQ

3 August 2020

UQ’s near decade-old maps platforms UQNav and UQ Maps are getting an extensive overhaul in the form of New UQMaps

An early demo of the New UQMaps is now available to provide way-finding information and insights for the St Lucia campus. Instead of only allowing navigation from one building to another, New UQMaps provides students, staff and visitors with detailed room-to-room directions. It also marks out the locations of eateries and cafes as well as amenities such as hand sanitiser, water refill stations and microwaves.

By the start of Semester 1 2021, UQNav and UQMaps will be replaced with the new map app, with rolling updates occurring up until that point, including improved routes, additional amenity information and live campus insights.

UQ staff are encouraged to try the New UQMaps early demo and provide feedback via the “Give Feedback” link at the top of the map. Feedback from the UQ community will ensure we can create greater experiences for all users of the new map app.
