Pay review outcome

The University conducted an external pay review to ensure staff are paid accurately and in accordance with the University’s Enterprise Agreements (EA) that applied between January 2017 to December 2023.
Review outcomes
The review identified that while staff were paid for the time they worked, 2 areas of our EA were not always correctly applied.
These relate to the minimum hours of engagement for casual academic and casual professional staff and the use of a different pay rate for casual academic staff with a relevant PhD.
Commitment to staff
We apologise for this error and are committed to working with both current and former staff to make this payment as quickly as possible.
There is an ongoing program of work to further improve our systems and processes, to ensure staff are paid appropriately and accurately, in accordance with the University’s EA.
Notifying current and former staff
The University is writing to current and former staff who were affected to outline the pay due including all superannuation and interest owed.
