Voting is now open to elect members of the 36th UQ Senate. The Senate is UQ’s peak governing body, ensuring that appropriate structures, policies, processes and planning are in place for the University to effectively manage its activities and achieve its goals.
This Wednesday 1 October marks the beginning of National Safe Work Month. The 2025 theme, ‘Safety: every job, every day’, encourages all workplaces to focus on safety and be aware of workplace health and safety risks. Construction of the second Student Residence Complex at St Lucia is progressing well and works will begin next week to install a water main beneath Walcott Street. From Monday 29 September, a section of Walcott St will be closed to traffic during the day for approximately 2 weeks. A detour will be in place via Glasshouse Road, Services Road and Hood Street to maintain access to nearby residences. Traffic control will be in place and motorists are advised to take care in the area. Pedestrians should continue to use the existing signed detour.
