The University of Queensland community is deeply saddened by the devastating attacks in Sri Lanka, which have claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent people.

UQ extends its condolences to the victims, their friends and families and all those affected by these heinous and cowardly attacks.

We understand that these senseless acts have caused grief and sadness across community and country boundaries.

There are many ways in which staff and students can access support if they have been affected by the events at the weekend.

Staff are reminded that support is available through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

Students can speak to a student adviser or a student counsellor by booking an appointment online or by contacting Student Services at student.services@uq.edu.au

Students requiring adjustments to academic work should contact their course coordinator directly or alternatively make an appointment with the Diversity, Disability and Inclusion Adviser Team, using the links above.

UQ remains committed to mutual respect and diversity, and to ensuring all members of our UQ community are valued, respected and safe.
