What is the short course listing page?

The 'Short course' listing page shows an automatic feed of short courses that have been published on your website. This page has the URL of https://yoursite.uq.edu.au/course/list

For each short course, the listing page shows a teaser display, which includes a:

  • title (linked to the course)
  • summary
  • date of the next course session
  • duration of course
  • facilitator names
  • location
  • enrol button
  • teaser image.

Current sessions automatically appear under a 'Upcoming courses' tab when they are published. Once a course is over, it automatically moves to the 'Past courses' tab. Courses can be filtered by keyword, topic, or audience.

The short course listing page can display up to 25 short courses at a time – links to additional pages are included at the bottom of the page to allow users to access more courses.

There may be a short delay for new courses appearing or unpublished courses disappearing from the listing page due to page caching.

Use a short course listing page when you want to:

  • show all current and upcoming courses in date order
  • have past courses listed separately.

How to enable short course listing and calendar pages

The pre-made short course listing and calendar pages can be requested by:

  • site coordinators
  • site builders.

Submit an IT request to have these pages added to your site.

Both pages are created at the same time. If you only wish to use one, you can delete or disable the other.

Once the short course listing and calendar pages are added to your site, they'll work automatically with the 'Short course' content type – you don't have to do anything other than re-order the link in your main menu.
