Using CloudStor
The information below covers the basics for using CloudStor. For further advice, see CloudStor Help.
Sending large files
The CloudStor service is now operating in "Read Only" mode ahead of the planned decommissioning of the service on Friday 15 December, 2023. As such, it is no longer possible to share files from within CloudStor. However, large files can now be sent using the standalone FileSender service.
FileSender can be used to send files of any size, quickly and securely. The sender has full control over who receives and can access the files and for which period of time.
- Go to the FileSender website.
- Select 'Login to FileSender'.
- Select 'The University of Queensland' as your institution.
- You will be redirected to UQ's Single Sign-On page. Enter your UQ username and password.
- Select 'Select Files', then select the files you want to send.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to send the file to.
- Enter an expiry date. On this date, FileSender will automatically delete the file from their server.
- Select 'Send'.
Accessing your files
Use the left-hand menu to access your files. Your files are grouped into the following categories:
- All Files: contains all the files you have stored in CloudStor. This doesn't include files uploaded through FileSender.
- Favourites: contains files and folders you have marked as favourites.
- Shared with you: contains files and folders shared with you by other CloudStor users.
- Shared with others: contains files and folders you have shared with other CloudStor users.
- Shared by link: contains files and folders that you have shared using a link.
