IndigoVision is used to remotely record, save and replay video footage.

You can use IndigoVision in several learning spaces at Gatton Veterinary School and the Toowoomba Rural Medical School.

To access IndigoVision, submit an IT request. ITS will provide you with your IndigoVision login, and will install and set up the IndigoVision Control Centre on your computer.

1. Viewing a live camera feed

To ensure you are capturing your subject before you start recording, you can view a live camera feed. To view the feed:

  1. Open the IndigoVision Control Centre software on your computer.
  2. Log in to the system.
  3. Select 'Live' from top menu to enter 'Live Mode'.
  4. A list of cameras will appear under the 'Video' tab. Double-click on the camera you want to use. Cameras are named by building and room number.
  5. The selected camera feed will show within a video panel in the center of the screen.
    • To change frames, select a different frame and then double-click on the camera from the list.

2. Starting a recording

How you start a recording will depend on what equipment is available within your room. You can start a recording from:

  • a touch panel
  • a button panel
  • your computer.

Recording from a touch panel

If a room uses the touch panel AV system, there will be a touch panel on the meeting table or lectern. The touch panel will look like the one shown here.

To record from a touch panel:

  1. Press the 'Recording Control' button on the touch panel. A pop-up menu will open.
  2. To start a recording, press and hold the large button for the camera you want to record. The button will turn green to show you are recording.
  3. To stop the recording, press and hold the large button until it turns grey.

Recording from a button panel

If a room uses the IndigoVision button panel AV system, there will be a button panel on the wall or lectern. The button panel will look like the one shown here.

To record from a button panel:

  1. To start the recording, press the 'START' button. The orange indicator will turn on to show you are recording.
  2. To stop the recording, press the 'STOP' button. The orange indicator will turn off to show you have stopped recording.

Recording from your computer

  1. Open the IndigoVision Control Centre software on your computer.
  2. Log in to the system.
  3. Select 'Live' from top menu to enter 'Live Mode'.
  4. A list of cameras will appear under the 'Video' tab. Double-click on the camera you want to use. Cameras are named by building and room number. The selected camera feed will show within a video panel in the center of the screen.
    • To change frames, select a different frame and then double-click on the camera from the list.
  5. To start the recording, hover your mouse over the video panel and select the 'Record' button from the pop-up menu.
  6. To stop a recording, select the 'Record' button again.

3. Reviewing a recording

  1. Open the IndigoVision Control Centre software on your computer.
  2. Log in to the system.
  3. Select 'Playback' from the top menu to enter 'Playback Mode'.
  4. Double-click on the camera you want to use in the list that appears under the 'Video' tab. The cameras are named by building and room number.
  5. A green and blue strip on the timeline bar at the bottom of the screen shows that a recording is available. You can use the following functions in the timeline bar to view your recording:
    • To start and stop a recording, use the play and pause buttons.
    • To skip to the start of a recording, click on the blank space before the green and blue strip.
    • To skip ahead in the recording, click on green and blue strip at the time you want to skip to.
    • To zoom into and out of the timeline, click on the + and - buttons.
    • To move the timeline backwards or forwards in time, click on the < and > buttons.

4. Exporting a recording

  1. Open the IndigoVision Control Centre software on your computer.
  2. Log in to the system.
  3. Select 'Playback' from the top menu to enter 'Playback Mode'.
  4. Double-click on the camera used for your recording in the list that appears under the 'Video' tab. The cameras are named by building and room number.
  5. Select the icon below to enter 'Export Mode'. Two yellow bars will appear on the timeline.

  6. Select and drag the yellow bars to select the section of the recording you want to export.
  7. From the top menu, select 'Playback' > 'Export and Protect...'. This will open the 'Export and Protect Recordings' menu.
  8. In the 'Export Incident' section under the 'Incident:' field, enter a title for the recording.
  9. To change the location where the recording will be saved, click the 'Browse' button and select a new location.
  10. Select 'OK' to export your recording.
  11. Once you have exported your recording, a new folder will be created. Open this folder and then open the 'Footage' folder to view the exported MP4 video file.
