Senate Committee for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
The Senate Committee for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (SCEDI) is UQ's primary committee related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
We are a strategy-focused committee that reports to the UQ Senate regarding equity, diversity and inclusion matters.
Our core membership is:
- The Chair, who is a UQ Senator
- At least 3 UQ Senators, with a balanced gender representation
- Vice-Chancellor, or nominee
- Student Representative, and
- Provost, or nominee.
In line with the University’s committee to intersectionality, the Chairs for the following University Diversity Committees are invited to all SCEDI meetings as Observers:
- Ally Action Committee
- Disability Inclusion Group
- Cultural Inclusion Council
- Gender Steering Committee
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Steering Committee
- RAP Oversight Committee
- Age Friendly Committee
The Committee also has the ability to co-opt external members with appropriate expertise.
We welcome staff to identify issues for discussion at the Committee meetings. You can contact the SCEDI Secretariat to discuss this.
