The Senate Committee for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (SCEDI) is UQ's primary committee related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

We are a strategy-focused committee that reports to the UQ Senate regarding equity, diversity and inclusion matters.

Our core membership is:

  • The Chair, who is a UQ Senator
  • At least 3 UQ Senators, with a balanced gender representation
  • Vice-Chancellor, or nominee
  • Student Representative, and
  • Provost, or nominee.

In line with the University’s committee to intersectionality, the Chairs for the following University Diversity Committees are invited to all SCEDI meetings as Observers:

The Committee also has the ability to co-opt external members with appropriate expertise.

We welcome staff to identify issues for discussion at the Committee meetings. You can contact the SCEDI Secretariat to discuss this.
