As of 1 July 2018, UQ is smoke-free.

UQ is committed to providing a productive, safe and healthy working environment. The decision to go smoke-free upholds this commitment while maintaining the University's legal responsibility to protect staff from as many avoidable health risks as possible. This includes those associated with second-hand smoke.

If you're ready to quit smoking, UQ offers support through the Smoke-Free UQ Quit program. This program is available to staff only.

The program is delivered by Quitline (13QUIT) and provides:

  • support over the phone
  • a 12-week supply of nicotine replacement therapy (patches, gum or lozenges).

How to register

To register for the program, print out and complete the registration form (PDF, 1.2MB) (staff login required), and return it to Quitline:

For more information on the program, contact UQ Wellness Program or call Quitline.
