As part of UQ’s Bronze Institutional Award accreditation, we must implement a 36-point gender action plan between 2019 and 2025.

The University of Queensland Ally Action Plan provides strategic direction and planning framework for LGBTIAQ+ inclusion efforts at UQ, and establishes priorities for UQ’s Ally Action Committee.

Cultural and Linguistic Diversity Action Plan (PDF, 2.7 MB)

This CALD Staff Inclusion Action Plan (the Action Plan) outlines key objectives and actions aimed at increasing the authentic inclusion of UQ Staff from CALD backgrounds. The Action Plan also seeks to situate UQ as a diverse and inclusive employer of choice for people from CALD backgrounds and improve perceptions of and behaviours towards CALD Staff and Students.

Core Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Learning

An innovative online course that aims to strengthen the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural capability of organisations and employees at all levels.

Ethics Awareness Workshop

A session designed to engage managers in conversation on ethical dilemmas and ethical decision making.

SBS Inclusion online training modules

Provides the skills and knowledge to create inclusive work and study environments.

Managing Unconscious Bias Program

Provides an understanding of unconscious biases and equips you with practical strategies you can implement in your work area to reduce the impact of these biases.

UQ Appropriate Workplace Behaviour course

An online course that explains how certain behaviours may manifest in the university context and explains what to do and steps to take if you witness inappropriate workplace behaviours.

Ally Workshop

At the end of the program, participants will have a basic understanding of LGBTIQ issues and knowledge of relevant community resources that will assist them in their role as an official UQ Ally.

Staff Disability Inclusion Masterclass

This workshop provides staff with an understanding of disability, best practice for inclusive practices, accessibility considerations, UQ procedure for reasonable adjustments for staff and the management of temporary disabilities.

Managing a Diverse Team

Provides managers, supervisors and HR staff with knowledge and practical skills on managing a diverse workplace. It assists participants to identify ways to be better leaders for their teams.

Bullying and discrimination prevention and resolution

This course will support supervisors to understand their obligations under anti-discrimination, harassment and anti-bullying legislation, their application in the workplace, and how to identify and minimise risks relating to an issue of workplace discrimination, harassment or bullying, and effectively respond to issues experienced or observed.

Warm Welcome Program

Moving to a new country can be stressful, especially for people who are unfamiliar with the culture and customs. The Warm Welcome Program (WWP) helps ease this transition for new UQ staff and their families, especially those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, by providing:

  • informal advice and support
  • connections to other members of the Brisbane community.
